The main catalyst to starting the company was based on a shared passion between two brothers, Kenneth Koh and Kevin Koh, to support animal welfare, shelters and to care for stray cats. Being true cat lovers and focusing specifically on the requirements of the organisations with whom they were involved, a clear need for bulk cat litter at a more affordable price became their primary objective. Local cat shelters were found to be using newspaper because they didn’t have the budget to purchase cat litter and this is how Kit Cat’s first product line, bentonite cat litter, came about.

Dedicated to improving the lifestyle of cats and owing to the success of their classic cat litter range, the two brothers very quickly identified gaps in the market for premium cat products which included dry food, wet food, treats and litter. In 2013, Kit Cat International Pte Ltd was founded and has become a destination brand for cat owners seeking a customised range of products guaranteed to deliver only the best for their feline friends.

In order to prevent some of the health challenges cats face, it is important to provide them with a heathy diet. Good nutrition isn’t just about the quality of ingredients, it’s also about the right balance of nutrients. For this reason, the brothers collated a team of professionals, including animal nutritionists and veterinary specialists, whose primary objective was – and still remains – to formulate and develop a range of foods and treats that address a cat’s dietary requirements.
